MUSEUM PEDAGOGY PROGRAMMES
The aim of the programmes at the Centre of Building Heritage of the National Technical Museum Plasy is to show children (and not only them) building as a great unexplored world that invites them to explore. Together with them we think, discover, touch, create. The programmes are prepared in different variants for all ages, and we always adapt them to the specific group.

1, 2, 3, BOOM – WE BUILD A HOUSE
A program where children learn about the materials and tools needed to build a house, engage all their senses in exploring them (except for taste:), and build a simple structure. There is also a rhyme and plenty of exercise
CARPENTRY FOR THE LITTLE ONES
A workshop in which the children learn first-hand about wood and the tools used to work it, making their own simple product. The joy of creating is great.

A HOUSE FULL OF EXCITEMENT
A journey through building a house from the foundation to the roof. In each part of the exhibition a mystery awaits, in each a challenge awaits. And at the end a reward for all the winners
CARPENTRY – STARTING WITH WOOD
Working with wood is fascinating. Just familiarize yourself with the materials, tools, procedures and safety principles at work and you’re ready to get started. How about a car, a boat or a mobile phone stand?

EXPOSURE TO CONSTRUCTION – THINK, DISCOVER, CREATE
Sometimes it’s just as important to be able to ask questions as it is to find answers. The logic of a house in its many contexts can be surprising. After all, it’s so obvious… Isn’t it?
STATICS AT PLAY – WHY IT (DOESN’T) FALL DOWN…
Through experimentation, self-creation and overcoming challenges, we discover the basic principles of statics – i.e. WHY WON’T IT (FALL?)!
BUILDING A LOG CABIN
An action-packed, collaborative programme combining a variety of skills, both technical and social. Can we manage to build an almost life-size log cabin together? In case of bad weather, the program is replaced by another program by agreement.

BUILDING IN TIME AND SPACE
Buildings have their anchorage in time and place. In a common dialogue and in confrontation with real objects, we learn to perceive how the structural, technical and architectural elements of buildings are related to each other, tracing their historical development
STATICS AT PLAY II
Testing theory in practice, translating practical experience into concrete words. Through experimentation, self-creation and overcoming challenges, we deepen our experience with the basic principles of statics.
EXPOSURE TO BUILDING-HISTORICAL RESEARCH
Together with a museum expert, students uncover the history of a building that has changed its face and function several times from the Middle Ages to the present day, yet each period has left certain traces that can be read like a thrilling book.
THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TIMBER-FRAMED HOUSE
An action-packed, collaborative programme, combining a variety of skills, both technical and social. Can we manage to build an almost life-size log cabin together? In case of bad weather, the programme is replaced by another programme by arrangement

EXPOSURE TO ADVANCED CONSTRUCTION
Buildings from foundation to roof, historical development of building elements, materials and structures, search for connections, links. Let us immerse ourselves in the world of construction.
EXPOSURE TO BUILDING-HISTORICAL RESEARCH
Together with a museum expert, students uncover the history of a building that has changed its face and function several times from the Middle Ages to the present day, yet each period has left its mark. Noticing details is a skill that can be crucial to understanding a building.
SPECIAL PROGRAMMES
By mutual agreement, we are also able to provide special programs in different areas of building. Programs should be arranged well in advance.
