How to reach us
The premises of the farm yard, which have already hosted participants of various professional courses and workshops, have been opened to visitors, but have remained a bit of a mystery to the general public. “A unique historical plumbing shop, which impressed with its sophistication and functionality, a forge with indoor and outdoor furnaces and a non-ferrous metal foundry were in operation. Master blacksmiths, founders and plumbers demonstrated that working with metal can be not only ‘fortel’ but also an art. We had the opportunity to observe the unique work of carpenters who used traditional methods to prepare parts of a historic crane,” said Pavel Kodera, head of the CSD Plasy NTM.
Visitors could also see under the hand of a master brickmaker and rope maker, and were introduced to the finer work of a stained glass manufacturer. Two lime kilns gave a closer look at how lime was fired. The master roofer was laying slate on the roof of the kiln.
It was also possible to see the unique exhibition of building and historical research, which is part of the farmyard. This exposition is intended especially for those for whom old buildings are a challenge to discover the context, who want to learn to read them and look for forgotten meanings.
The Rolls-Royce car show
The National Technical Museum delighted the visitors of the Plaska pilgrimage not only with historic buildings but also with other treasures of technology and therefore arranged a parade of historic Rolls-Royce cars. Their beauty and technical perfection could be admired in front of the building of the former brewery, which houses the Exposition of Civil Engineering.
