Places of suffering, death and heroism
– prisoners from the Czech lands in Nazi concentration camps.
The author of the exhibition Places of Suffering, Death and Heroism is the Auschwitz Historical Group in cooperation with the Terezín Memorial. The exhibition was first opened in the synagogue in Liberec in August 2005 and has since been touring throughout the country. It bears witness to the unimaginably horrific reality of the Nazi concentration and extermination camps, helps us not to forget, warns us. The exhibition offers contemporary materials recalling the horrors of Nazi rule in the occupied countries, includes authentic memories of people who survived the rampage of the fascists, commemorates those who did not survive, and warns of the threats of today’s growing ultra-nationalist and neo-Nazi movements.
The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Director General of the NTM Mgr. Karel Ksander and the Mayor of Plasy Zdeněk Hanzlíček.
The exhibition will be open from 1 August to 30 September 2017 during the opening hours of the library.
