On Friday 28 September 2018, from 10am to 5pm, the gates of the Malostransky Nostický Palace (Maltézské náměstí 1, Prague 1), the seat of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, will open to visitors.
You will be offered a tour of the unique early Baroque Nostický Palace, where you will be able to see the representative halls, the minister’s study, the Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the picture gallery and the Nostic library. On the ground floor of the palace you will be introduced to 23 contributory organisations of the Ministry of Culture with a rich programme for children and adults.
This time, the National Technical Museum has prepared educational activities in the field of electronics for all visitors. Children and adults can discover simple principles of wiring light bulbs, bells, electric motors. The workshops were prepared by the NTM in connection with the 90th anniversary of the rescue of the airship Italia. Its crew, known in our country by the Czech participant Dr. Běhounek, used just improvisation of electronic components and put the damaged radio station into operation. The children will also try to broadcast a short message in a replica of a survivor’s tent.
